Simms Freestone Z Boot-foot Waders

By Roger Bloom

Fly Fishing Specialties’ Roger Bloom recently put the Simms Freestone Z Bootfoot waders to the test out at Pyramid Lake and shared his thoughts on these waders.

“These waders performed flawlessly and provided significantly better foot warmth than standard waders paired with wading boots. I upsized the boot to give additional room in the toe box to allow thicker socks without compromising circulation. The zipper made accessing under layers and going to the bathroom a quick and easy process.”

“The only drawback I experienced was ankle support and/or limited tracking on slippery substrates. If anglers need to hike long distances or have to navigate difficult wading conditions it could prove challenging. Static or limited wading and this waders is great.”

“For the right application these waders are a fabulous deal and most folks I have shown them to have purchased a pair with no regrets.”
