Carquinez Strait Fishing Report
Captain Patrick MacKenzie
Water Clarity: 1–2 feet
There’s a lot to like about the fishing around Carquinez right now. A large biomass of bait is present in the area, creating plenty of opportunity for fish to feed up as we move deeper into fall. The added bonus? There’s a chance to intercept migratory fish making their way toward the Delta, which makes this stretch of water especially exciting.
With bait in the system and migratory fish on the move, there’s plenty of potential for some quality action. Conditions are lining up, and this is the kind of setup we look forward to as the fall season progresses.
The fish are around, the bait is here, and the opportunity is real. It’s on!
