Fishing Reports

Lake Oroville

Fishing is good. Winter fishing is just getting going and fish are eating wakasagi minnows and crawfish. We have not seen a huge number of fish caught each day but the average size of fish caught has been bigger than average and every day we are out we are getting more and more fish. The bite has been best during first light and then moving deep into the forks to find schools of bait has been best.

All fish are coming on a float and fly rig with various baitfish and crawfish style jigs about 9-10’ under the float. If you want to hunt down dense bait schools running bait fish on I lines under the schools – making sure not to break them up – can get fish on stripped flies.

Fishing should only get better and better over the months of November and December.
